EUREM 2000 - SATELLITE MEETING:
Workshop on Electron Crystallography

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS, CALL FOR PRE-REGISTRATIONS

Organized by:
Dr. I. G. Voigt-Martin, Mainz (e-mail: voigtmar@mail.uni-mainz.de)
Dr. J. Fryer, Glasgow (e-mail: 106402.2443@compuserve.com)

Place and time:
Congress Hall, Hotel Voronìž, Køížkovského 47, Brno
Sunday, July 9, 2000, 13:00 to 18:00

Speakers are asked to present a ten minute survey (using approximately 4 transparencies with name and e-mail adress of author) on the topics indicated on the list below. The aim of the workshop is to inform younger researchers about the present situation in electron crystallography, which problems are presently under investigation and where they can seek advice. Names of colleagues who have already agreed to contribute are indicated in brackets. Those wishing to make a contribution should contact the organisers of this workshop.

It is intended to give participants a booklet containing all the contributions, so contributers will be asked to send in copies of their transparencies ( with name and e-mail adress at bottom of the page) prior to the conference. Furthermore, it has been suggested that a newsletter should be edited, containing information relevant for electron crystallographers. Three colleagues have already offered to organise this (Weirich, Kolb, Jansen).

For pre-registration use the form at www.eurem2000.isibrno.cz/regform.html, and tick the box labelled "Workshop on Electron Crystallography". Do it please regardless whether you are already registered for EUREM. The participation fee amounts to 25 USD and will be collected on arrival.

Criticisms and suggestions regarding the planned procedure are still welcome at this stage of planning.

We are grateful to Philips Electron Optics-FEI Deutschland and JEOL for generous financial support.
