Author Help - Sample FTP Session

For submition of your paper to EUREM2000 FTP server change to the directory the file you want to send is in and then open your FTP application and at the ftp> prompt type the following (what you input is in BLUE,what FTP prints on your screen is in BROWN, and comments are in BLACK if you have a browser which supports color).

Password: my-email@address.dom               (Type in your own e-mail address.)
230 Guest login ok, access restrictions apply.
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
ftp> cd /incoming
250 CWD command successful.
ftp> bin                   (This puts FTP in binary transfer mode)
200 Type set to I.
ftp> put filename.ext         (filename.ext should be replaced with the file you are sending)
local: filename.ext remote: filename.ext
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for 'filename.ext'.

FTP will now begin transferring your file. When it has completed you will get the ftp> prompt again.

226 Transfer complete.
1 bytes sent in 0.0154 seconds (64 bytes/s)
ftp> quit    (This ends your FTP session)
221 Goodbye.
